FirebrickFirebrick is a refractory brick, capable of sustaining intense heat without fusion, usually made of fire clay or of siliceous material, with some cementing substance. It's primary use is for the lining of fire boxes. Fire brick differs from common brick in that they are special bricks that withstand very high temperatures. Because they are also a masonry product, they can also store and control the heat that will be released into the living area of the home. They are placed in a structure where needed and the greatest amount of heat is expected. Firebrick is not prone to expansion and contraction which helps to minimize cracking under extreme heat conditions. We offer two styles of brick, red and beige, in tumbled or square edged. Common patterns that are used with firebrick are herringbone, running bond, stack bond and basket weave. Some common firebrick patterns are: (1) herringbone (2) stack bond (3) basket weave (4) running bond.
